The Biedermeier style building at 42 Westbahnstrasse looks back on a 70-year history as a typically Viennese ´Wirtshaus´, or tavern.
We have revived and continued this tradition and are committed to a very cultivated, classic interpretation of this Viennese cultural tradition.
EATING
In doing so, we serve uncompromisingly honest and authentic food and drink in a comfortable, uncomplicated and cordial atmosphere.
We use only the freshest products, as far as possible from local sources:
- meat from the renowned butcher, Rhabek, in Puchberg, Lower Austria
- fruit, vegetables and cheese from local markets
- fresh herbs from our garden.
We also pay special attention to providing a range of really good and prize-winning Austrian beverages:
- Haselbräu and Schremser beer from the Waldviertel, Lower Austria
- fruit juice directly from selected fruit growers and wine producers
- a wide range of excellent schnaps
- a fine selection of Austrian wines.
ACCOMMODATION
As of October 2009, not only can you eat, but you can also stay overnight at Schreiner´s. Here we subscribe to the same sets of values as in our restaurant:

We have five individually designed rooms, which although they are in the centre of town
are still quiet and enjoy views of our beautiful garden.
What you can expect:
- extremely spacious rooms, from 30-40m2
- generously sized balconies or patios
- solid wood furniture and oil-treated oak floors
- generously sized bathrooms with rainfall showers and separate WC
- non-allergenic mattresses, seating areas and a writing desk
- wireless LAN in the whole building
- LCD screen TV with international channels
- fridge, Nespresso coffee machine, Tea Boiler etc.
- car park 3 minutes away on foot
- no-smoking rooms.
You can take your breakfast in your room, on the balcony/patio or in our welcoming breakfast room.
And if you feel like going for a good meal in the evening, Schreiner´s restaurant is right on your doorstep.
